i actually got to see you several times, although you weren't here long
i would often touch my belly to pretend i was holding you
we prayed and prayed for your heartbeat
you were gonna be my mother's day present, or even share a birthday
your dad and i are still so sad that you are gone

i often image you are my flower child
you already had a tie-dye blanket ready to rock you to sleep (from your Fifi)
the yellow butterflies remind me of you

you had an aunt judith, mary and sarah
and an uncle jordan, casey and jeff who prayed for the little miracle that you were

you had 4 great-grandparents who i thought you would carry their names

your bammy and fifi cried when they found out about you! in the middle of black walnut cafe over pumpkin pancakes

we would've shared a birthstone (and i think personalities)
my sweet baby may, lily of the valley
i'm so glad that when you open your eyes, jesus will be rocking you to sleep

hello, septmeber

goodbye august! you were so unbearably hot!

hello, september! i welcome your football games, pumpkin spice lattes, D's 30th bday! and a few Austin trips.

we went to the first ut football game of the season! although i'm an aggie, its still really exciting to be at any college football game! cheerleaders, band, crowds! 

the ut golf team won the national championship of the ncaa, and this is their head coach and the trophy! 

the tri rock triathlon series came to town lake in austin and was on labor day. several months ago, dad convinced D to sign up. so he's been working and training so hard and the weekend was finally here! he did amazing! it was really hot, and his first open water swim, but he was a champion! i think he's hooked. i'm one proud wifey!

what are you looking forward to in september? and can you not wait for this??

punta cana, dominican republic

this weekend our friends got married on the beautiful beaches of the dominican republic. 
ribbons of greens and blues through the Caribbean waters..


D + me stayed at The Reserve at Paradisus Real
spin class, yoga, spa treatments, comfy lounges everywhere
fresh pineapple and mango and beautiful white sand beaches


this was a very relaxing, romantic place for a wedding
the bride and groom, and guests wore their swimsuits to the rehearsal dinner and ate ceviche
the groomsmen wore khaki linen with their pants rolled up
the bride was absolutely beautiful, carried calla lilies and wore silver starfish earrings


i'm officially a beach bum. 
love the sand and sun
love the color that my hair turns
love palm trees and little island birds
love that no one cares what day it is....or time
