punta cana, dominican republic

this weekend our friends got married on the beautiful beaches of the dominican republic.
ribbons of greens and blues through the Caribbean waters..

D + me stayed at The Reserve at Paradisus Real
spin class, yoga, spa treatments, comfy lounges everywhere
fresh pineapple and mango and beautiful white sand beaches

this was a very relaxing, romantic place for a wedding
the bride and groom, and guests wore their swimsuits to the rehearsal dinner and ate ceviche
the groomsmen wore khaki linen with their pants rolled up
the bride was absolutely beautiful, carried calla lilies and wore silver starfish earrings

i'm officially a beach bum.
love the sand and sun
love the color that my hair turns
love palm trees and little island birds
love that no one cares what day it is....or time

listen to this while you clean the kitchen....you can't help but smile and dance
bob marley: is this love

{we spent hours laying in this pool under these grass huts sipping on pina coladas & miami vices}

{view from our balcony}

{yes, that is michael jackson.}

 {my handsome husband and his good friend}

 {i can still hear the sounds of the ocean and the breeze blowing throw the palm trees}

{isn't this palm tree amazing?!}

i wanna luv ya
luv and treat you right
i wanna luv ya every day
and every night

Tuesday finds me....

Tuesday usually finds me,
drinking coffee & working in my pjs...
watering my plants, doing a load of laundry,
lunching with a friend, going for a jog or a swim.

Yesterday was my first day back at the office after a 2 week vacation.
It was so nice to be back! I've shared with many of you that this is the first time
in 10 years that I will only be working 1 job!
I am so thankful.

So, it was time to tidy up my office after being out for so long.
I found this adorable FREE printable calendar to hang right next to my phone.
I love that it has the moon phases drawn in. Each month as a hand-drawn picture of an herb.
So lovely.

I also can't wait to for these little lovies to arrive
just in time for D+me's beachy vacation to the Dominican Republic.

I can not wait to meet this little lady today! Happy Birthday little Baby Evans!

Happy Tuesday,
Leah

hippie rags

you know, doo-rag...
the bandana that bikers wear..
hippie rag
the old scarf, or piece of fabric, or vintage concert-t that hippies wear.
i am in love with this style for the summer!

how to fix your hair before the hippie rag
b&b surf spray. you can spray on wet or dry hair!
{sephora, $32}

so my hair would look like this...
{don't you love her hair color, and her tan?!}

and then just tie the rag around your hair!

i used an old scarf from the winter that i loved the summer-y flowers on. tied it behind my pony tail and let one side drape long over my shoulder. perfect for the dave matthews concert on a hot summer night!

happy monday!

Bahstan Runnah

Boston is on my list of FAVORITE cities!
As soon as we arrived the town was buzzing with runners from all over the world and even the signs in the airport welcomed us to the famous Boston Marathon. It was incredible.
The food is amazing. The weather was gorgeous. The tulip gardens, the cannolis and the cities history all were my fav.

 {Billboard outside of the galleria of shops.}
So, if you aren't a runner, I'll explain. Marathon runners wear these 'space blankets' (sort of like foil) to regulate their body temperature after the finish line because it drops drastically.

 My family in the beautiful public park walking distance from our hotel.

On the Sunday before "Marathon Monday" we visited the oldest Baptist church in Boston.  It was beautiful and historic. Very NOT southern Baptist like we are used to. The minister gave a blessing of the athletes.

On the duck tour in the Charles River, of course dad is driving the boat.....in his Boston Marathon florescent green jacket.....

Lobstah Roll at the Barking Crab.  Oh my gah.

It was, historically, the second hottest race in 116 years. Over 4,000 runners dropped out and 3,000 didn't even start. The winner of last year's Boston, dropped at mile 18.
My dad finished. BOOM! Shaka laka.

i think i'll go to boston

tomorrow my family (sans lil bro)
will be flying out to boston, ma.
d & me are super excited!
we've been working so much lately and are really looking forward
to eating lobster rolls, walking around harvard campus,
watching dad run the marathon, and being away for a long weekend.

while we are there, we plan on sight seeing all day saturday, sunday, monday and tuesday...
so, i was shopping for awesome fanny packs. and lo & behold there are some amazing new designs!
perfect to fit a small camera, shopping money, cell phone and little charms you pick up in the city.

{lulu lemon}

 i like this inspiration of kim k.'s travel outfit.
comfy chinos, easy on/off shoes,
scarf to keep warm on the plane,
easy hair, and blue blockers?

meanwhile little Waylon will be hanging out with his friends at Willow Creek Ranch.
running, playing, swimming, fetching.
he's gonna be in doggie heaven.

can't wait to post pictures for you to see when we get back!
have a fabulous weekend!

"i give thanks to you, for i am fearfully & wonderfully made.
your workmanship is marvelous.
and my soul knows that very well."
psalms 139:14

thank you God for the sweet smell of honeysuckle as i jog by this morning.
i am reminded that you are an artist.
and you made me.

i hope you are encouraged sometime today
that you were made perfect.
be very kind to yourself.
